Was surprised to see in the newspaper that today was the last day that the traveling Wall memorial was in Whatcom County. I didn't even know it was here! I have been to see it in several cities where it has been and seen the original in DC a couple of times, too.
So, I grabbed my camera and headed for town.
I put a little flag by the panel where my Uncle is listed.
Lots of displays on how many fought and were injured or died in all of our wars. The tables in the back toward the wall have metal ID tags for everyone who has died in the current war.
This is a permanent display in the Memorial Park in town listing those who fought and died in the county.
There was a huge display about the course of the Korean 'conflict'. Oh, wait! Is that my 1st husband in the back row of this picture? He had a Silver Star from the "Frozen Chosin" with the 7th Marine division.
